**Employment Specialist/ Job Coach**

Supported Employment Specialists assist disabled individuals to find gainful employment and provide coaching on the job.

 What you’ll do:

  • Support daily living activities such as meal prep, personal hygiene and grooming, bathing, changing clothes.

  • Support recreational and social community activities, shopping and medical appointments. Plan fun events.

  • Develop a positive rapport with clients and cultivate safe and supportive relationships.

  • Follow individual service plans (ISP) for clients and update case notes each shift.

  • Interact positively and professionally with clients and their families.

  • Use smart phone for communication, email, time and attendance.

  • Treat individuals with dignity and respect.

What we require:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation

  • Be physically able to assist clients with:

    • Walking and balance

    • Moving in a wheelchair

    • Personal hygiene

    • Bathing

    • Transferring

    • Upper body strength sufficient to reach, bend & kneel

    • Carry groceries/laundry

    • provide CPR/First Aid

    • take stairs

  • One year experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities preferred but not required.

  • Pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting, state of NJ Registry checks for abuse/neglect of children & adults clearance.
